Somatic Recovery Coaching
Somatic Recovery Coaching is a foundational modality on the journey of spiritual (re)formation. It is only after the nervous system is addressed that we can restore our felt sense of connection with God, self, and others in a way that reforms our perspective and elicits true and lasting growth. Through Somatic Recovery Coaching we befriend the body, are equipped with tools and spiritual practices to regulate emotions, and we expand our capacity to accept reality as it is or has been. Over time, we discover our authentic self begin to emerge with the confidence and agency to respond versus react to difficult, painful, or challenging relationships, circumstances, and opportunities.

You may be beginning your journey of spiritual (re)formation at a point of crisis or crossroads.
You are not alone.
Perhaps you have suffered with perpetual anxiety, compulsive behaviors, or cyclical circumstances for as long as you can remember, and you can feel yourself slipping into despair.
There is hope.
Maybe you have tried thinking harder, doing more, or performing better, but you just can’t seem to control the overwhelming feelings that keep surfacing.
You are not helpless.
For many of us, the first step towards spiritual (re)formation is admitting that although we are not helpless, we are powerless over the effects of the trauma we have experienced and how our mind and body has adapted to keep us safe. , and the disorder they cause in our lives. We need a “power greater than ourselves” and a loving companion to guide and equip us on a new road to recovery.

“Therefore, careful and informed spiritual direction is essential if the Charismatic movement is to make progress. The movement needs to create within it a network of spiritual guides who can help individuals through peak experiences and enable them to cope with the inevitable experience of darkness for which traditional Pentecostal spirituality may leave them unprepared . . . Those who, through the Charismatic renewal, have come to a deeper experience of the Spirit's power need personal guidance in order that they can make progress and not become fixated at a particular stage in Christian experience. Personal guidance is necessary so that the radical movements of Christian discipleship will be helped to relate the inner and outer worlds in a spiritual direction which takes account of the movement towards human liberation in our time. Never was spiritual direction more urgently called for than in the present climate of soul searching.”
